Counselling Approach

I provide a warm empathetic non-judgemental space for my clients. I work with clients through their problems, and explore their needs and perspectives. I am aware that each client is different and individual, and because of that I work alongside the you to explore the best ways forward for you.

I am very client centred in my counselling, within this I will use different ways of working with you, these can include Person Centred Therapy and approaches, Narrative Therapy, ACT, DBT skills, Solution Focused therapy, sensory modulation, mindfulness and grounding techniques and Motivational Interviewing.

Experience

I am a Provisional Member Registered with NZAC. I have a Bachelor of Counselling from Weltec. The past four years I have worked with clients (both individual and whanau) through a range of issues, in particular, issues relating to neurodiversity, young people (12 +), Family Systems work, trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, stress and life change, gender and sexuality. I work three days a week in a specialist counselling service working with young people and have in the past worked on contract for the neurodiverse centric org beehyve.

I have an interest in working cross-culturally and a strong interest in working with those who are neurodiverse. I am an ADHDer, Dyslexic and Dyspraxic and I parent a Autistic and ADHD child . I understand through my life experiences the challenges and rewards parenting those with neurodiversity can bring and have navigated numerous challenging issues that these bring.

I bring my life experience, empathy, and curiosity to the counselling process.

Services

I offer 1-1 online and face to face confidential coaching and counseling sessions of half an hour or an hour in length. I offer in-person and telehealth counselling sessions.

My room is based at the Mana Therapy Hub, 116 Mana Esplanade. I am available on Tuesdays (9 – 5 pm) and Fridays (9 am – 12 pm) for both online and in-person sessions.

Please contact me either at nathanaeldeigratiava@gmail.com or on 027 6968638 for a free 30 Minute no – obligation conversation regarding your counselling needs.

Prices

I know counselling can be expensive and that this can create a barrier to getting help. I offer a sliding scale for counselling appointment costs. I also offer shorter, 30 minute sessions.

Session rates are:

  • 30 Minute sessions $30 – $50 per hour
  • 1 hour sessions – $60 – $100 per hour

If you are struggling to afford counselling you may be able to get support through MSD. You can find a link here for support.

I am a registered counsellor with I am hope, which currently provides funding for 2 free initial sessions for under 25 year olds.

I am also registered with Will to Live which provides counselling to those living in Rural Communities and can also provide EAP services through Clearhead and Givenwell.

I invoice after the session through HNRY. You must pay for the previous session before your next one. If you’re in difficulty around payment, let me know sooner rather than later and we can work something out!

Cancellation Policy

We know things happen and things come up. If you do not show up for an appointment or cancel without a valid reason within 12 hours, you will be charged for the session at my discretion.
